Rt. 58 , that runs along the bottom of Virginia’s border with North Carolina, has always been one of my favorite routes to drive. There are all kind of great places and side roads to get lost on and finds wonderful “icons” by the roadside. While on a weekend drive, I came upon this ice cream stand. Owned by a couple from Chicago who retired to Clarksville, they decided to reopen this old ice cream stand. It was doing a booming business when I stopped by. I hope it still is.
