This great, lunch counter shot was taken in a now “Vanished” location Norfolk, VA. The Central Grocery was on Bayview Boulevard near Tidewater Drive and was a wonderful “you can buy anything there” kind of place. It was run by two brothers, one who looked like Walter Matthau (who is behind the soda machine). The woman in the shot was an original employee of the place and, as I understand, she was the last person to turn the key on the door when the place closed. The building has since been torn down
